The rich and varied geography, with gentle hills and lakes to the north giving way to the famous mountain ranges which criss-cross the country, playing host to some of the most renowned ski resorts in the world. The Bernese Alps rise to the south of Interlaken in the centre of the country, offering the resorts of Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren, as well as Gstaad-Saanen and Adelboden further west. Enjoy majestic skiing in the region that first developed Alpine skiing, with the famous Jungfrau railway providing access to the 'Top of Europe' at 3,566m.
The mountainous canton of Graubünden to the south-east is our heartland of key resorts including Flims, Laax, Lenzerheide, Davos, Klosters, St Moritz and offers a huge variety of high altitude skiing, pretty village resorts and a wide range of winter alpine activities away from the piste. Many Swiss resorts boast high glacier skiing and excellent snow records, none more so than the Monte Rosa plateau, soaring above Zermatt, alongside the iconic Matterhorn which offers a rich variety of skiing and mountaineering opportunities for all levels.
